5 out of 5 stars This is a kids toy, not a planetarium   January 6, 2009
My three year old loves her lady bug, it keeps her company as she falls asleep. The stars don't really look like stars where the light hits the ceiling, there are no recognizable constellations and I don't bother setting it up on something to elevate it. The batteries last forever, it shuts off automatically after so much time and, most importantly, it makes my little girl happy. The lady bug casts a crescent moon shape among the stars. Each night I position the moon in a different area and the last thing she does before she falls asleep is finds the moon on the ceiling. Any toy that can make a child happy on a daily basis is money well spent.

I have 3 grandchildren and 4 years ago I bought the turtle and my 4 yr old grandson still uses it!!!! Now I have 2 more grandsons, so I purchased the Ladybug and Sea Turtle!! Both of these are awesome. If I had to choose the Ladybug would be both mine and my grandsons' favorite!! It is bright and the stars and moon are show up so clearly!! My second choice (and grandsons') would be the Sea Turtle. This one has fish and mammal circles and the stars and moon (just not as many stars) and is awesome to view. These two also have off switches. The original that I got 4 years ago has no off switch and you need to wait 30 minutes - maybe they have corrected it now, but still it's bright and awesome for the boys.
Buy with confidence as they are great night lights

5 out of 5 stars Three year old and mommy loves this   January 3, 2009

I purchased this for my son who has a room with an outdoor theme. He spent have the day in closet, and now that its night time he has it in his room. It is really cool. You do have to have it kind of in the center of the room for best results, but he just lays with it on the bed. Its great, I am getting the ladybug for my daughter as I am sure they will fight over this one as she gets older.

4 out of 5 stars I'm buying one for everyone I know who's having a baby this year!   January 2, 2009
We bought the ladybug for our daughter who is 2 months old. She shares brother's room until we get our basement finished. Two-year-old brother loves the ladybug! He loves to pick the color of stars for the night, and often that is the only thing that will get him to bed without argument! We bought the turtle for when sister gets her own room and takes her ladybug with her!

5 out of 5 stars FABULOUS!   January 2, 2009

I purchased this turtle for my eleven year old brother for Christmas and he really loves it...as does everyone else in the house! Everyone wants their turn at night to have their ceiling illuminated with stars! I have also previously purchased the Twilight Ladybug for my three year old daughter, which is so adorable. My only comment between the two items is that the ladybug projects the stars over a greater area...even onto the walls somewhat (in a large sized kids room), while the turtle projects in a narrower oval shape which only does about half the ceiling in a large room. This is probably due to the shell shapes...but just FYI...if you want more coverage go with the ladybug!
